How do you define beauty?

Being beautiful is something that we hear often. How do you say what it is or should I ask, how do you describe it?  Almost every young girl & lady and especially a woman asks themselves this question some point in their life.  “I want to look beautiful” is a phrase you often hear a young girl describe the look she anticipates for her high school Prom, her Senior Portraits or on that night of a special school dance. You often hear women say that same phrase when they describe the way they want to look & feel on their wedding day or perhaps on a date night  or just whenever. 😉  Guys/Men perhaps wonder the same thing as well but they do not particular use the phrase “beautiful” but perhaps “handsome, swaggerific, buff, GQ, hot, sexy…ad nauseum.  What exactly is the definition of beauty? Trust me, I know what Merriam Webster says beautiful is, but to describe what is beautiful and what is not is not quite that simple.  To me there is a huge shade of gray when it comes to that topic.   Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and honestly you can definitely be beautiful most often when you think that you are not. You know that day you have when your hair styled right, your makeup looks great and your ensemble looks great & feels great on you–on your body…you feel beautiful! No one can take away a good hair day or a good makeup day! Seriously! Only humidity can ruin those two things and living in the South, it can do so often!  Bottom line is that you and only you can decide, know and truly understand your beauty.  We are all beautiful in one way or another and I love showing or should I say exposing that beauty.  Bringing it to light and showing it to the world.  Know that you are beautiful in your own form and flaunt it…own it!  After all Marilyn Monroe did and she was just an average, beautiful woman–with curves! ;D

I hope that everyone is having a great Summer but I definitely want to take the time to let the Gulf Coast families know that I am praying for them, their safety, homes and health.  The damage that Isaac has caused thus far has been mighty but also on the unfortunate seven year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.   I truly hope that Hurricane Isaac moves faster and keeps you all out of harms way.  My prayers are with you and a special prayer to a few families in particular that I know in those areas.  Stay safe!
