The Dog Days of Summer…

I have had the worst case of writer’s block lately.  Seriously, every time that I have tried to start a new post my mind goes blank.  So I decided to not think and to simply let me fingers do the typing and let everything flow out of my brain and onto the world wide web.  I so wish that I was in Vegas at the moment getting hugs from Sue Bryce and listening to that silky, soft & beautiful New Zealand/Aussie accent of hers!  I love her voice and her work…oh her work speaks volumes for itself.  Glamour me anytime Sue!! Anytime! I would love to walk up to Sal Cincotta and say, “Forgetaboutit!” in my faux New York/New Jersey accent and trust me he would laugh not because it was good and would give me a few tips perhaps!!  Alas, I will see these two again sooner rather than later!  Also, a huge shout out to Lindsay Adler (I adore this chick and thank her for opening my eyes to not be afraid to utilize my creativity), The Boudoir Divas & Zach & Jody Gray as they have spoken and are speaking in Vegas at WPPI-U as well.  These Photographers are truly amazing, talented, motivating, inspiring and 100% real and they have helped me SO much throughout my journey as a Photographer. I admire them, as well as their work, and I always wish them continued success.  On another note, I would so love to raid Marissa, Kimberlee & Jody’s closets if I could wear their size but I have too much junk in my trunk! 😀

So I am finishing up my new website and my re-brand. FINALLY!!  It is about ME and is a lot more personal but it truly shows my style in many aspects besides photography!! Yes I am using my name and incorporating everything that I love all rolled into one!  I do not want to spill the beans or give away too much–I must have a cliffhanger like a Friday episode of General Hospital–but I hope to launch my new site this month, if not at the beginning of September.  Wish me luck as I have done all of this by myself with the amazing help of a very talented artist named Kristina Williams!  She completely understood my vision, my style and the direction that I wanted and that I am going in and she executed it with such ease and beauty.  I am so thankful for her.  I got a chance to visit with Kristina before her move to San Antonio and capturing her behind my lens was a grand time! 😀 Seriously!!! I had a blast even though I was attacked by fire ants (my ankle turned into a cankle and is still slightly swollen) and I got bitten by a spider twice!! Did I mention I am allergic to spiders?! Yeah!!!!  It was all worth it and I wanted to share this beautiful image of her!  I made clean edits and this is NOT processed in Photoshop! She is absolutely gorgeous and her beau is one lucky fellow as she is smart, beautiful, talented, hilarious and can burp just like me!! She is good!  I cannot wait to post my session of Kristina on my new site soon!!  She is my own personal Disney Princess! 😉Kristina is an amazing artist who will do great things with her life...perhaps work for Disney!

Some may think that I am crazy for doing my own re-brand but hey I like IT related things, building something and making it mine and knowing that I did it myself.  I created this blogsite all by myself and will be launching another one soon.  As the late Walt Disney once said, “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.”  I will continue to do just that because anything in life is possible if we set our minds to it.  Never give up, always keep going and moving forward and have faith and know that good things will come your way tenfold.  I have to end this post with a few images of a funny & beautiful family who just added a lovely little boy to their family!  I am still ever so excited for the Woods family on the addition of little GQ, on Mom’s birthday nonetheless!! I hope that everyone is still doing great and that life is continuing to treat you guys grand!!  Julie, you are absolutely gorgeous–regardless if you are pregnant or not.

I hope that you all have a great week and I plan on blogging more about the dog days of Summer and hopefully some of those posts will be on my new site!! 😀 Until then!! XoRo

Beach Time Sneak Peak

I am working on a ton bunch of different things at the moment but I could not help but write a quick post about my beach time and my session with The Griffin Family.  They were on vacation around the same time as myself, in the same city–in a different state.  Nor was it planned!!  It worked out well; it was easier for them to find a photographer or ask a random stranger to take photos of their family.  🙂 Tripp was awesome behind the lens.  He would glance away without direction and it was awesome.  Thanks for rocking that GQ pose for me! 😉  As the song “Summer Breeze” [a hit by Seals and Crofts if you are wondering what song I am talking about] plays in my head and Autumn nears us, I am grateful for the beautiful yet hot & humid summer we had.  As for now, I am sharing the GQ-esque photo of the lovely couple and heading to bed.  It has been a long week and tomorrow is only Wednesday.

Happy Wednesday!  😉

Summertime Love

Oh my summer is rapidly passing us by but the heat and humidity still lingers–not complaining but ready for some beautiful foliage to appear.  I have been enjoying some much needed beach time down-time so I am not worried about fall at the moment! 😉

Before leaving for vacation, I had the pleasure of photographing the Boone family and it was a fun time.  Nat is a true diva in the making!!!  Lucy & James, I hope you are ready!  Seriously–she was not happy with each pair of shoes that her mom picked for her to wear, but she loved her hot pink Crocs!  She is hilarious, precious, unpredictable, a complete girly-girl as well as an outdoor girl and so much more.  You two are lucky to have such an amazing little girl.

She was a little unhappy about the first few shoe choices…but that didn’t stop her from being a little loveable.

Now it was time to get out and about.

Of course I had to snap a few shots of the fabulous couple themselves!  They were great and surprised me with a great capture.

And these two are my absolute favs!  She was just making these expression and I loved it!  What a doll!

Again, thank you guys for allowing me to capture these moments in your lives.  I continue to wish your family the best, especially for it to grow! 😉  You truly have a beautiful family.

Until next guys, I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday tomorrow!

Oh how I love sunsets!

I love sunsets, like seriously I have stood knee deep in the Florida waters to capture a beautiful sunset with my Canon!!!  That should let you know how serious I am about them!!! I am a sunset chaser! 😉

With that in mind, evening sessions this summer have been my fav!!  If a breeze came through more often it would be awesome!  I captured a few shots of Katriana & Alex a few weeks back and it was a hot and humid day but the light was amazing. I was sweating bullets [probably from all the water I had drank–I drink more than a gallon before 3:00 p.m.] but it was well worth it to capture that light and those images!  Alex ended up “scavenger hunting” and picked up a stick with ants on it…needless to say he was not 100% smiles after that.  He enjoyed being outside and just playing with nature. 🙂  I was able to snag some really great shots and I could not be more pleased with how they turned out.  I especially love this photo of Alex because he deliberately has his back to me while laughing–that kid!! He is his mother’s son…and his father’s too!!  😉  We called it a wrap when a June Bug crawled up onto his neck.  His reaction was priceless!  Katriana you are beautiful and the light absolutely loved you!

Happy Friday the 13th! 😉
